My Tokyo List: Crossing Off Popular Districts and Streets

by Ande Geronimo @ Chasing Summits

I love exploring cities on foot (e.g., Gion in a yukata and geta sandals). I can walk for hours and still want more, and this is true even under the sweltering sun. The only exception is if the heat is too much to bear, or if it’s raining. I chose to spend the remaining two days of my Japan trip in Tokyo, walking some of its popular streets and districts. I spotted the Opera House from Ho Sen 2 Hotel, it’s going to be about a few minutes walk from where I was. There was somewhat orchestra where people gathered in front of the Opera House. One of the things I love about Budapest is that there are so many lookouts and viewpoints that meets the eye. I have compiled the best spots to take photos in Budapest and all of these places are so captivating and offers stunning panoramic views of the city! BUDA CASTLE This Grandeur palace is mind-blowing with its great architecture and it showcases the best panoramic view over pest city. The castle has a breathtaking view of the bridge, parliament and the Danube River. The castle is old but its charm remains lovely and it is indeed a gateway to a fantastic view. Getting here is easy. You can either take the Funicular railway or walk your way up to the hill. Either way, it caters an amazing view. Daytime is stunning and night view is just magical!   FISHERMAN’S BASTION Fisherman’s Bastion is one of my favorite spots to take tons of photos. The view from this angle is just wonderful with a new feel of the old city on top of the hill. No wonder why so many people are so captivated by its grand alluring architecture and lovely arches. What’s great about it is that it is right […]

Zaanse Schans: Windmills, Chocolates and Dutch Costume in a lovely little town in Holland

by Riz Baldivia @ Lamyerda

Zaanse Schans is the Holland I was looking for! Windmills, cheese, chocolates, wooden houses, Dutch costume, and a historically bucolic countryside! After the rainy days in France and the chill winds of Belgium, we were delighted that Holland gave us a warm sunny weather! And I was all fired up to know that Zaanse Schans is just less than an hour away from Amsterdam. Donna and I took the bus to this picturesque windmill village. And guess what the first thing we did..wear the Dutch costume! We hilariously looked so classic wearing the traditional Dutch dress and the clogs made me feel how it was like to live in a village dating back to 1850s. Beautiful windmills, farmlands, wonderful lake, and cute little cafes. Zaanse Schans is freaking photogenic! It is also impressive that the windmills are still functional! It’s like reviving the past back to life. It is touristy, yet, this quaint lovely town is so charming and romantic.   After having a go wearing, dancing, laughing and taking loads of photos with the Dutch-maid costume, we decided to take a seat at one of the little cafes and had our morning coffee while breathing-in and enjoying the lovely view of the […]

Inside The East Gardens of the Imperial Palace – What to See

by Ande Geronimo @ Chasing Summits

Shinjuku or Shibuya? This is the question I asked myself when searching for a place to stay in Tokyo. So I booked at Nine Hours Shinjuku-North, a capsule hotel within a 2-min. walk from Shin-Okubo Station. How was my stay?
